Ken Maddox was born in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1951. After attending school at Knoxville College his freshman year, Ken transferred to Montana State University (MSU) in the fall of 1970 where he walked on to the basketball team and majored in education. He later obtained his Masters in Education through MSU.
