Blewett Family Scholarship

Alexander “Zander” Blewett III and Andrea “Andy” A. Blewett were born and raised in Great Falls. Zander graduated from Great Falls High in 1963 while Andy graduated from Great Falls Central in 1965. They have two sons, Alexander “Anders” Blewett IV and Andrew “Drew” Blewett, both of whom attended GFHS. Anders and Drew attended college at Harvard and Tufts, respectively, and both graduated from the
University of Montana Law School in 2007; they are now practicing law in Great Falls with Zander, who has been practicing here since 1971.

Zander and Andy have always had an interest in education and set up a scholarship fund through the Great Falls Education Foundation to assist students from GFHS with financial help as they attend college. This fund was then transferred to the Great Falls Public Schools Foundation in 2013 when the two foundations merged. In addition to rewarding students who excel in the classroom, the Blewetts wish to recognize those students who participate in a varsity sport during all four years of high school. They wish to support students who chose to attend either Montana State University in Bozeman or the University of Montana in Missoula.

The Blewett scholarship was established in 1993 and has been awarded to many hardworking and successful students since.

Scholarship Requirements:
1. Must show need of financial assistance.
2. Must exhibit reasonable citizenship, diligence, and hard work.
3. Must be a GFHS graduate.
4. Must participate in a GFHS-sponsored sport for all four years of high school.
5. Must have a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher.
6. Must attend Montana State University in Bozeman or the University of Montana in Missoula.
