Jacqueline J. Wright Other Ways to Win Scholarship

Jacqueline Justine LeRoux Wright was born May 31, 1936, to Georges and Dorothy LeRoux in Great Falls, Montana. She attended Great Falls public schools and earned a degree from Montana State University (now University of Montana) in Missoula.

After completing her education, Jackie became an elementary teacher in Tacoma, Washington where she met her future husband, Dr. Roy Wright, DVM. They were married in Great Falls and returned to Tacoma where Dr. Wright maintained his practice. They adopted a son, Steven. Later Jackie and Roy divorced and Jackie and Steve moved to Grants Pass, Oregon where Jackie taught at both Lincoln and Riverside Elementary Schools. Her favorite grade level was Third Grade and she was an inspiring teacher for many, especially when she taught writing skills.

In her lifetime she enjoyed many hobbies, crafts, and skills including fiction writing, spinning, and weaving, making miniature (dollhouse) furniture, and quilting. She was an avid reader and a long-time player in a card group with her neighbors.

The estate of Jacqueline, a GFH graduate, was left to GFH in 2013. This estate was used to establish three scholarships for GFH graduates including Wright War Fair, Wright Other Ways to Win, Wright Success, and Wright Out of State.

Scholarship Requirements (for all three Wright Scholarships):
1. Must be a GFH graduating senior.
2. Must provide a current transcript.
3. Must submit two letters of recommendation.
*Other requirements vary depending on the scholarship.
