Andrew Nunez Memorial CMR Basketball Scholarship

Andrew Nunez, a 2007 C.M. Russell High School Graduate was a former CMR basketball player that displayed characteristics of grit, dedication, good sportsmanship, leadership and a strong work ethic. He loved the game from an early age, and took pride in wearing the green and gold jersey. Andrew always gave 100% in every game, fought hard defensively and was a great point guard with a good vision of the floor and the game. Being coachable and intense were also two traits that Andrew had and that helped him take the game very seriously. Most importantly, Andrew was always having fun while working hard, and basketball was a passion of his that carried on with him throughout his life.

Being a good teammate was a trait that Andrew continued to have in life, and he was a great friend to many and a loving son and brother. He was a bright light in many people’s lives and always tried to help people reach their best potential.

The Andrew Nunez Memorial CMR Basketball Scholarship was created to recognize a basketball player who embodies grit, determination, dedication, good sportsmanship, leadership and a strong work ethic, just as Andrew did.
